Add this to the long list of strange things my child is obsessed with. It started with the simple question, "mommy what is that?" while pointing at the "SLOW: NO WAKE" buoy at my parent's lake house. Now it has exploded into driving over the 520 bridge to check out the buoys in Lake Washington, hitting Green Lake to see the swimming buoys, sleeping with an actual buoy that his father spent $35 on at a marine outfitter store and watching crabbing videos on YouTube to check out the fisherman buoys.
Weird, right?!
Not weird at all. He just likes what he likes and is incredibly curious about the things he likes. It just makes him unique.

curious... unique... weird ... obsessive ... focused ... intense, all mutually inclusive and marvelous - and, yes - all the traits of talent and genius! what a lucky child to have a mommy and daddy who nurture and honor his inquiring spirit. We will have great fun w/ these photos when he's 16. :-) Happy Fourth sweethearts!
